Obtains SBTi Certification for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

Beck Co.,Ltd. (Headquarters: Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has obtained certification from the international Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets under the framework for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

1.  About the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The SBTi is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets. The specific framework for SMEs provides a streamlined pathway for smaller businesses to set targets aligned with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement.

2. The Company’s Certified Targets

The targets certified for Beck Co.,Ltd. by the SBTi are as follows:

• Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions: Beck Co.,Ltd. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 48% by 2030 from a 2023 base year.

3. Background and Significance of the Certification
